AWH ARCHITECTS PROPOSAL REQUEST

Exterior Restoration including new flat roof, restored terra cotta parapet caps and adjacent masonry

To whom it may concern,

I. INVITATION TO SUBMIT PROPOSALS. By this Request for Proposals (RFP), AWH Architects, on behalf of the local non-profit the Islamic Center of Winona (hereby referred to as ‘Owner’), is requesting proposals from a selected list of Construction firms for the award of the Construction for the project. The Construction firm will provide preconstruction and construction services necessary to construct the project scope. The awarded General Contractor/Contractor(s) will enter into an AIA A105 Standard Form of Agreement between Owner and Contractor, or similar, where the basis of the payment is the Cost of the Work Plus a Fee with a Guaranteed Maximum Price.

PROJECT SCOPE:

THIS PROJECT IS TAX EXEMPT. FUNDING FOR THE PROJECT INCLUDES A LARGE LEGACY GRANT FROM THE MN HISTORICAL SOCIETY. THE MILESTONES LISTED BELOW ARE CONDITIONS OF THE GRANT, AND ALL WORK MUST COMPLY WITH THESE ITEMS. CONTRACTOR(S) TO COORDINATE WITH OWNER AND ARCHITECT TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH THE GRANT CONDITIONS DURING CONSTRUCTION.

SCOPE OF WORK: Project involves replacing existing flat roof and associated components and replacing with new EPDM roofing. Scope also includes repaired/replaced terra cotta caps, rehabilitation of adjacent common masonry walls with new metal cap and new roof insulation system.

Monthly Potluck

Monthly Potluck gathering is held every last Sunday of each Month at the Islamic Center of Winona (71 W 3rd St). Doors open at 6:00 PM and open to all members, friends and well wishers of Islamic Center. Purpose of this potluck are socialization, family get-together, outreach, community building through personal interaction, welcome new members etc. We are blessed to have people coming from La crosse, Rochester and sometimes from Minneapolis. Bring a dish to share if you can or simply bring your smile.

Daily Iftar During Ramadan

During the holy Month of Ramadan, Islamic Center of Winona prepares Iftar (meal eaten after sunset) for everyone for the entire month. As large number of our members are students of local universities, serving Iftar allows students to have better meals during Ramadan month. This event is going on for more than three decades and we are always so lucky to have different family members volunteer to prepare the meals and all are welcome to this Iftar dinner.
